The P.D. Pages: Books, banter and beverages
Thursday, October 13th 3:30 p.m.
Mount Royal Faculty Centre
That’s right, the MRFA Professional Development Committee is launching a faculty book club. This club isn’t the kind that you have to bring a potluck dish to, or clean your house for. Au contraire, colleagues; we will supply the refreshments, if you’ll supply the lively conversation. Our hope is to read and informally discuss books of broad interest, not necessarily scholarly in nature, but which might inform our academic lives in one way or another. No 500 page tomes on pedagogy here, gang …
The first book on the menu will be Drive: The surprising truth about what really motivates us, by Daniel Pink. Plan to read before you come! The book is available at all the usual retail locations, as well as at MRU and Calgary Public Libraries.
We hope you will join the conversation. To ensure ample refreshments for all, please register online via the ADC [workshop #45] no later than Friday October 7th. Can’t commit to the first discussion? No problem, you will be welcome in the Winter.
