Centennial Symposium on Scholarship of Teaching and Learning

Commemorating Mount Royal's 100-year commitment to understanding and improving student learning

November 11-13, 2010 in Banff AB (with a full day of on-campus workshops November 10, 2010)

This gathering of teachers/scholars is a “practitioners conference”

 

dedicated to developing individual and collaborative teaching and learning scholarship,

 

sharing nascent data and findings, going public with compelling results of completed research projects, and

 

building an extended scholarly community at Mount Royal and beyond.

 

 

 

 

Proposals will be accepted for sixty minute individual, collaborative, or panel presentations in one of these categories:

 

Completed teaching and learning research projects

Innovative approaches to data gathering and analysis

Early returns and initial findings of work in progress

Calls for collaboration, triangulation, and development

Institutional/Program scholarship support

 

 

 

The symposium agenda will include pre-event workshops, concurrent sessions, banquet/breakfasts/lunches/reception, and

keynote presentations by:

Ron MacDonald

Susan Elrod

 

, Executive Director of Project Kaleidoscope
, Faculty of Communication Studies at Mount Royal University
, Senior Associate with The Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching
